01.フクギとヒンプン
Fukugi and Hinpun
台風の多い沖縄で、暴風雨から屋敷を守り続けてきたフクギ屋敷林。目隠しだけでなく、魔除けの役割もあったといわれている「ヒンプン」と呼ばれる石の壁。敷地を取り囲むように立っている樹齢100年以上のフクギの木と今ではほとんど見かけなくなっている琉球石灰岩の石垣とヒンプンが沖縄の原風景を垣間見せてくれます。
In Okinawa, where typhoons are common, the forest of Fukugi trees has protected several communities from storms. Outside the home, the stone “Hinpun” walls are said to not only provide privacy but also ward off evil. The Fukugi trees are more than 100 years old, and the Hinpun is made of Ryukyu limestone, which is rarely seen these days. These two aspects of the villa offer a glimpse into Okinawa’s historical past.
02.雨端（アマハジ）
Rain Edge (Amahaji)
沖縄の伝統的な家屋には欠かせない雨端（アマハジ）。内部と外部をつなぐ開放的な空間であり、強い日差しや雨から家を守る役割も果たしています。ビール片手に夕涼みしたり、雨を眺めながら過ごしたり、昔ながらの軒下空間をお楽しみください。
The amahaji, similar to a veranda, is an essential part of traditional Okinawan homes. It is an open space which connects the inside of the house with its surroundings, and protects the home from strong sunlight or rain. This space opens up the house and allows you to enjoy the cool evening breeze, savor a drink, or watch the rain.
03.屋外シャワールーム
Outdoor Shower Room
建物のサイドに設置した屋外シャワールーム。ヴィラから徒歩数分で行ける海で過ごした後は、すぐにシャワーを浴びてスッキリ。
On the side of the building, there is an outdoor shower room. After spending a day at the beach, you can take a quick shower outside to freshen up.
04.水盤
Water Basin
建物前に設置された水盤。古井戸から引いた水がゆるやかに流れ、水面に浮かぶ水草のそばではトンボが飛び交います。小さな水の流れが心の安らぎをもたらしてくれます。
In front of the building, there is a water basin with flowing water from an old well. On the surface, dragonflies flutter around floating water plants. The slight trickle of flowing water adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
